This interactive "ask the expert" Learning Centre consist of demonstrations of common GI procedures and their devices.
Five hands-on stations will cover

  1. (1) percutaneous drainage & biopsy
  2. (2) biliary drainage
  3. (3) biliary intervention
  4. (4) radiologic gastrostomy using phantoms
  5. (5) GI stent selection

Experienced tutors will outline key concepts of each procedure and stimulate discussion around best practice driven by the training needs of the delegates. The informal setting allows free discussion of any aspects of the procedures and gives ample opportunity to ask questions from any level of training. "There are no silly questions, only poor explanations."

Learning objectives:

  • - To understand the principles of percutaneous drainage and biopsy, radiologic gastrostomy, and percutaneous biliary drainage and intervention
  • - To become familiar with the respective devices available as well as their indications and limitations
  • - To be able to adapt procedures to each patient and their specific requirements
  • - To be able to anticipate and manage complications
  • - You will be responsible for controlling/advancing your presentation slides.
